Mark Alazraki, CEO of Alazraki Networks, announced that they are working on four projects for platforms that will be filmed in late 2023 and early 2024, in addition to the recent production of Club Perfecto for ViX, which they recently completed filming.
“The company is doing very well, we are very close to Prime Video, Netflix, and working a lot in Mexico, as we did recently with the movie Club Perfecto. We’ll be ready to produce once we finish writing the scripts. This year we plan to make one or two feature films at the end of the year and two more by 2024, and all of them would be for different streaming platforms,” commented the producer.
Alazraki highlighted that one of the advantages of the current market is competition, since each buyer has a defined profile allowing them to choose in which platform to place each project. “We presented a project to two different companies, one did not like the host, and for the other it was the reason why they gave us the OK. In the same way, when we receive or develop content, we already have outlined which ones work for each buyer, that makes everything very versatile and gives us a broader range of work.”
To conclude Mark said that events like the Meeting of Production Companies, organized by IMCINE in recent days, offer a broader overview about the state of the industry, in addition to presenting options for developing content; however, “everything looks very encouraging if things are achieved, because if we don’t break the vicious circle it’s like chasing our tails. Hopefully the opening of the government to promote the industry in other countries mentioned by the chancellor Marcelo Ebrard offers the opportunity to open the conversation. We know the sweetness that producing abroad offers and it is a pity that we do not have the power to attract fiscal stimulus for American or Chinese companies, but hopefully steps forward will be taken.”
