Sony Pictures Television (SPT) and TV Azteca released a first look at Bárbara de Regil in her return to the small screen as the fierce warrior, Rosario Tijeras. Production on the second season of the acclaimed hit action series has wrapped in Mexico City. The second season of the series will have a second window on TNT for Latin America and Mexico.
The 60-episode, 45-minute series returns to Azteca following its success in its first season, during which it was the #1 primetime program on Azteca 131 and notably improved the network 2016 timeslot (M-F 9PM) average among Households (+15%), A18-49 (+32%) and Total Viewers (+20%)2.
Alongside Bárbara de Regil, Jose Maria “Chema” de Tavira (Señorita Pólvora, Que Pena Tu Vida) returns as Antonio, and Sebastián Martinez (La Querida del Centauro) as El Ángel. The series is directed by Chava Cartas (El Dandy).
“Rosario Tijeras is such a unique and beloved character, viewers dare to enter this complex world where the protagonist tries to survive. In this second season, Rosario understands that revenge brings nothing but death and pain to those she loves most,” commented Carolina Leconte, VP, Creative, SPT’s Teleset, “New characters will try to tie her to a past she cannot leave behind and her mission will be more complicated than ever.”
