Richard AU Amazon
Amazon Prime would be willing to integrate its Prime Video service in pay TV platforms. Richard Au, director of Amazon Prime Video for the US, said in the recently ended Pay TV Show in Denver that a key topic for Amazon is the construction of a global video service that attracts many people, to be used by tens of millions, but that doesn’t attempt to replace the traditional TV.
“We want to be in a wide range of platforms for different devices. We definitely want to be where clients broadcast videos,” he assured when he mentioned that Amazon could work with MVPD to take Prime Video to their clients. “Our service will boost commitment on their platform”.
For media company with content that has international rights, Au said that Amazon could provide a good international distribution platform.
The executive said that Amazon sees its channel subscription video hub as a flexible and progressive way for consumers to add networks a la carte without having to buy a bigger package.
