Tonia OConnor UCI Upfront
In what turned out to be its first experiential Upfront, Univision Communications Inc. (UCI) opened its presales event at Springs Studios with a video with several personalities –including celebrities, politicians, news executives from Univision- on what culture meant to them.
UCI´s Upfront this year is Culture Unbound, which represents UCI´s relation with Hispanic consumers, based on an essential aspect of human identity culture.
Tonia O’Connor, Chief Revenue Officer at UCI, participated pointing out that “culture is at the root of everything the group does”. She said that Univision´s demo represents new America fearlessly. She reminded us of Univision´s new SVOD service that combines the best of UCI plus linear content from BBC and Viacom, just to mention a few. She highlighted that the company´s digital area offers the level their clients require and mentioned the new Aperture tool.
“We are in the consumer age. They demand personalization. It is essential for clients to reach their consumer in a language, style, and format that speaks directly to them,” she said.
Steve Mandala, President of Advertising Sales and Marketing at UCI, mentioned that the group is bringing to life inclusive marketing, that connects in Engish and in Spanish, “the power of more” he said.
Lisa Valentino, Revenue Innovation Executive VP, said that now they are expanding relations with consumers with the best content partnerships “in culture, every day, and all day,” she said.
