With the launch of Luis Miguel, La Serie, on Sunday, April 22 at 9pm, Telemundo launches a new franchise for the primetime Schedule on Sundays, dedicated to premium series. The network, like it, did with superseries and with bioseries, now boasts this block that will feature scripted, 10-15 episode premium quality series.
“This strategy is aligned with the innovations we have made in Telemundo in the last few years. We are betting on short series of impeccable quality, with first-rate actors and different stories. We are doing with our bet on the screen the same things as on production, for it to be a consistent space —a ´must-see TV’— Sundays,” said Luis Silberwasser, President of Telemundo Networks.
In this bar, there will be productions from Telemundo International Studios (TIS) and external producers. The initial list covers, along with Luis Miguel, La Serie from MGM and Gato Grande; El Recluso (13×60’) from TIS, Nicky Jam: El Ganador (13×60’) from Endemol Shine Boomdog, Falco from Dynamo and Spiral; and El Secreto de Selena from Disney.
Silberwasser highlighted that Telemundo has a very robust pipeline of series, whether they are produced internally or with external producers. “We are open to ideas from producers who want to make this type of premium series,” he added.
