The shooting of the Mexican remake of My Best Friend’s Wedding –that in the 90’s starred Julia Roberts— began in Guadalajara, Mexico. This time Ana Serradilla has the main role.
Celso García is the director and production will be under the responsibility of Sony Pictures Television, Daniel Birman, and Gerardo Morán. Serradilla is accompanied in the cast by Carlos Ferro, Natasha Dupeyron, and Miguel Ángel Silvestre.
“I am happy to make a contemporary and Mexican version of this famous film. We will be filming between seven and eight weeks, with locations mainly in Mexico,” announced the actress on the red carpet of her film El Año De La Plaga, in the context of the Guadalajara International Film Festival.
The star of stories like Cansada de Besar Sapos, said she was focused on cinema. Soon the films El Hubiera Sí Existe and Welcome to Acapulco will be exhibited.
Serradilla will also be part of the film El Tigre Rubirosa, produced by Claro Video, Lokal Productions and 11:11 Films by Manolo Cardona, who will be the protagonist. Distribution will be under the responsibility of his recently inaugurated company Star Content. The story of Rubirosa will also have a TV series, which they will start producing midyear.
