TVN Chile: The challenge for the company is how to adapt to new viewers’ consumption realities

Alexis Piwonka, Manager of International Business at TVN Chile, reported about the recent distribution agreement of their contents, with the new company owned by Ernesto Lombardi, who is in charge of TVN´s international distribution since last NATPE 2018.

“We are going to work on the distribution of our telenovelas with Lombardi, who returns this time as a partner of TVN, not only as an employee but as a distribution partner, together with Juan Pablo Carpenter and Karina Etchison,” said Piwonka.

“Karina Etchison is going to handle the distribution to the European and African market. Ernesto himself is in charge of the sales in the Mexican and US Hispanic territory, and for his part, Juan Pablo Carpenter is in charge of Central and Latin America,” he assured.

Piwonka highlighted that the challenge for the Company is how to adapt to new viewer´s consumption realities, how to adapt to this unprecedented way to consume, through linear and non-linear TV, platforms, smartphones. This challenge of how to adapt stories to these consumption platforms.

“Right now we are learning. We are developing web series and other contents alongside telenovelas, which is what we do most for Internet platforms with parallel stories, and that way we gradually understand what they like and what not. So we are in that learning process, doing things and improving,” he said.
