Angélica Guerra, SVP managing director, International Production, Latin America & U.S. Hispanic, Sony Pictures Television
Angélica Guerra, who previously was SVP and managing director, Production, Latin America and US Hispanic for Sony Pictures Television (SPT), has joined Apple as Head of Latin American Programming, Worldwide Video.
Guerra will report to Morgan Wandell, Head of International Creative Development, and starts her new role this month.
In SPT this role, she oversaw the company’s production business across the region, including Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil.
Under Guerra’s leadership, Sony became one of the most prolific independent production companies in the region, developing and producing an array of original primetime teleseries for the Latin American and US Hispanic market including Mary Magdalene, El Comandante, Rosario Tijeras, Lady, Bloque de Búsqueda, and Metástasis (the Spanish-language adaptation of the hit drama Breaking Bad).
On the non-scripted side, Guerra also played a key role with adaptations of high-quality and popular local versions of Shark Tank, Raid the Cage, X Factor, Got Talent and The Farm.
