Amazon reached an agreement with RTVE, Atresmedia, and Mediaset, to increase the catalog in Spanish of its VOD service in Spain and in Latin America, and in some cases also for the US Hispanic market.
This way, the platform will add more than 30 series produced and aired by these networks.
“We are very happy to be able to offer these local contents to our Amazon Prime Video users in Spain,” explained Christoph Schneider, Content Acquisition Director at Amazon Prime Video.
“Thanks to these agreements with RTVE, Atresmedia, and Mediaset, we can offer the best of Spanish television to our clients and position Amazon Prime Video as the global video streaming service with more content accessible in Spain.”
According to the Spanish journal, the series included in the agreement with Atresmedia are Vis a Vis, Velvet, as well as the original productions: Presunto Culpable and Matadero, that have not yet been launched by the network.
Mediaset has El Príncipe, La Que Se Avecina, and El Accidente. They also have La Verdad, which will be added after its debut on open TV. For its part, RTVE sold, among other things, the series Estoy Vivo, produced by Mediapro.
