Long Distance

mitú premiered its new original scripted comedy special Long Distance on YouTube Red.

The digital comedy special centers on the challenges of a L.A. based social media manager Gaby Márquez (played by Chachi Gonzáles) and her Chicago-based boyfriend Chris Murphy (played by Cayden Boyd), as they attempt to make their long-distance relationship work through the pitfalls of social media, cross-cultural challenges, and the disruptively charming and handsome presence of Gaby’s new boss, Rafa (played by Josh Leyva).

As the leading voice for Latino youth in America, Long Distance exemplifies mitú’s ongoing commitment to open doors and create opportunities for the next generation of diverse talent and storytellers, bringing fresh voices and faces to American mainstream entertainment.

“Trying to maintain a relationship in your twenties is never easy, especially when you’re 2,000 miles apart, starting a new job, and living away from home for the first time. It’s these millennial-friendly, universal themes that led us to partner with YouTube Red, who not only responded to our smart and comedic love story but the influencing power and significant size and scope of our young Latino fan base,” said Doug Greiff, mitú co-founder, creator and executive producer of Long Distance.

“I’m incredibly proud of this show on so many levels, including our amazing, predominantly Latino cast, our talented Latina writer, and all the Latino crew members who worked on the show. mitú strives to be the first stop to attract and bet on Latino talent, and Long Distance is a great example of this,” added Greiff.

Long Distance will be broadly available via YouTube Red’s platform.
