Cine Sony makes HD debut refreshing brand with new logo, look and on-air promotions

Cine Sony, Sony Pictures Television Networks’ channel targeting the fast-growing U.S. Spanish-language market with premium entertainment, unveiled a new look and feel to coincide with the introduction of the network’s High Definition (HD) channel feed.

“At a time when the network is experiencing significant ratings growth amidst a very competitive landscape, we’re confident that making Cine Sony available in HD with a fresh new look and feel will not only move and engage viewers but also grow the channel’s popularity with our large, loyal fan base and help us appeal to even more Spanish speakers that love Hollywood movies and television,” said Tom Troy, GM & SVP, Sony Pictures Television U.S. Networks.

According to Rentrak TV Essentials (Q1’17: 12/26/16-3/26/17; Q1’16: 12/28/15-3/27/16), during the first quarter of 2017, Cine Sony was the #1 Spanish-language cable movie channel in both AA and coverage area ratings. Additionally, with a 68% increase in viewership year-over-year, Cine Sony is now among the top 5 fastest growing Hispanic networks in the U.S.

Designed from the ground up to be adaptable and flexible, but with a common Sony DNA at its heart, the new Cine Sony design is now aligned with the entire Sony Channels global brand portfolio. Cine Sony’s new look consists of a variety of elements meant to communicate a more contemporary feel for the brand, including bumpers, IDs, promo toolkits and other graphics. The new look is consistent across the network’s linear channel, online, social media and off-channel platforms.
