Endemol Shine Latino: Big momento for fiction and renewed interest in formats

Endemol Shine Latino´s production efforts have increased substantially lately. They are currently producing the second season of El Vato, co-production with Boomdog for Universo, and announced three additional titles: El Ganador, bioseries based on the life of the singer Nicky Jam, who will be the star of the series. It will be launched in the US on Telemundo; Para Selena Con Amor; the singer’s life from the perspective of her husband Chris Pérez; and Como Agua Para Chocolate by Laura Esquivel.

“And we have at least five scripted projects we cannot announce yet, but soon will,” assured Laurens Drillich, president of Endemol Shine Latino.

The executive also highlighted: “We are living a great moment for fiction, there are many projects; but there is also renewed interest in formats,” assured Drillich. He expressed that Masterchef Jr. is a hit on Mexico’s TV Azteca and that in the LA Screenings they boost formats like The Wall, Hunted, My Kitchen Rules and El Puente de España.
