Gracia Waverly, VP senior of Original Programming at NBCUniversal International Networks, stated that throughout this year they have managed to increase their channel portfolio and on diverse platforms.
The cases she commented include that after the rebranding campaign of the movie channel Studios Universal, “they noticed an 18% increase in primetime ratings at a panegional scale and that this performance was doubled in primetime, which reveals that our audience is not only concentrated on primetime, but also remains with us throughout the day, positioning our channel as one of the top 20 in the region.”
They were also able to increase ratings on E!, throughout most of the region, in more than 25% and, specifically in Mexico, they grew more than 50%, managing to position the channel once again in the top 20 for entertainment, precisely the year the channel celebrates 20 years of existence.
“On Syfy we brought to the big screen programming bets to remain relevant in the science fiction space, with productions such as Doctor Who, The Shannara Chronicles and The Magicians, all with new seasons in 2017. Regarding Universal Channel, we continue betting on the Chicago franchise, with the arrival of Chicago Justice in April, and also the return of the powerful series Shades of Blue in its second season,” she mentioned.
