Vanessa García has been named director of Community and Communications of WNBC

Vanessa García will be the new director of Community and Communications of WNBC starting on Monday, March 13.

She brings more than ten years of experience with NBCUniversal and is coming from Telemundo Enterprises in Miami, where she served as Community Relations manager.

At WNBC, García will help implement the new community and communications strategy, while also developing new community initiatives. In addition, she will support on-air talent by vetting event invitations, coordinating external appearances and generating talking points for use at external events.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from California State University and an MBA from Mount St. Mary’s College.
