Telemundo announced the production kick off of its new production Guerra de Ídolos (War of Idols), the network’s first original musical series, which will show a deeper look into the struggle in front of and behind the camera of those who manage and control the music business.
The drama series stars Alberto Guerra, Maria León, Alejandro de la Madrid, Juan Pablo Medina and Daniel Elbittar as “Julio César Solar,” a Regional Mexican music idol. An original story by Mariano Calasso, Guerra de Idolos is directed by Max Zunino and Liliana Bocanegra with Martha Godoy as executive producer.
Alberto Guerra returns to Telemundo to give life to Mateo Solar, the youngest son of the Solar family and creative partner of Julio César (Elbittar), his older brother and star of the family. The talented former lead singer for Playa Limbo, Maria León, joins the production as Manara Matamoros, a beautiful and talented vocalist who dreams of becoming the next pop star. Manara’s older brother, Amado Matamoros, is played by actor Juan Pablo Medina, while Alejandro de la Madrid portrays Rafael Zabala, a big Ranchera music super star.
The talented cast of Guerra de Ídolos also features José María Torre as Isaac Solar; singers Pedro Capo, Christian Pagan, Luis Figueroa and Alex Brizuela; Marco Treviño, Carmen Beato, Fabiola Campomanes, Fernando Carrera, Sofía Lama, Viviana Serna, Alex Garza, Sheryl Rubio, Erika de la Rosa, Eduardo Tanus, Alex Speitzer, Pamela Almanza, Vince Miranda, Ximena Ayala, and Claudio Lafarga, among others.
