Facultad de Business & Economic Polling Initiative arroja resultados de su más reciente estudio
This year, the Faculty of Business & Economic Polling Initiative of the Florida Atlantic University (FAU | BEPI) began calculating the index on the Hispanic consumer confidence in reference to prognosis on improving personal finances and US companies. The results showed that economic security in this group has risen to 81.3% up nearly 8 points since last October. When asked respondents about perceptions of personal finances within a year, they said that 61.6% of Hispanics expect a better personal financial situation in 2015.The research explains that the increase was due to the great advances in terms of revenue, which allowed the younger population make purchase plans based on high prices: furniture, refrigerators, ovens and televisions. “This is good news for manufacturers, retailers and the economy as a whole. This notion always stands in the holiday shopping season.” Monica Escaleras said, director of FAU | BEPI.In turn, it was determined that the regional location of the groups seem to affect this variable, being higher in the western area by 75% and lowest in the south, which is reduced to 33%. “One possible explanation for pessimism in the Northeast is that the cost of living is higher in this region than in other cities. The less educated Hispanics may be feeling the effect of these higher costs,” said Escaleras.
