Twitter is about to join the list of social networks that seek to boost influencers and help them generate profit for their efforts on the diverse social platforms, by implementing ads on the videos that popular users upload, using a similar format to YouTube’s, including the skip button. It isn’t the first time that the social network uses pre-roll. In 2013 it launched a similar initiative for the main companies and has evolved offering the option of running automatically for some media and allowing advertisers the freedom of placing their campaigns on the video categories they wish. With this new measure, influencers keep a part of the profit generated by those ads. Industry Executives have pointed out the effort as positive for the social network that, despite not comparing in amount of users to Facebook, is generating important numbers thanks to pre-roll.
