Reconocida fotografía de García para la marca colombiana Punto Blanco
Colombian Photographer, Juan Manuel García works both in Colombia and the U.S. Over the years he has specialized in the Hispanic market and shared with PRODU this experience. “I’m lucky to have many direct clients in the U.S.; TV people, fashion, Latino companies, all very happy with my work” he said. Recently he took pictures for Telemundo’s campaign regarding Rio’s Olympic Games and he is very proud of his work. For Garcia it’s more difficult to produce things that are innovative in the US than in Latin America. “I feel that the Hispanic market has evolved but still copies many things from the general market, that’s why I enjoy so much to work directly with clients, who have allowed me to experiment with successful results.” When Garcia began to work in Colombia there was a lack of specialized photographers, so he has a broad reel with expertise from stars’ portraits to photographic coverage for the Semana magazine. He was acknowledged as one of The Best 200 Photographers Worldwide in the Lürzer’s Archive ranking for a campaign for ESPN. “I have 20 years in the market moving all the time, evolving and understanding the new visual language” he explained. “I began driven by pure passion and still do. It has been a delightful career that has allow me to enter in a world of many amazing people.” His secret has been finding a balance between his needs and his personal satisfaction, creating strong bonds with his clients around the quality of his work.
