At the AVRA restaurant in New York, Oswald Méndez, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Canela Media kicked off the company’s Upfront presentation, setting the stage for their impressive growth trajectory. He highlighted the company’s projected achievement of 55 million monthly unique users by year’s end.
Méndez wasn’t alone on stage. He introduced the company’s leadership team, including Brad Dancer, Executive VP of Research and Insights, Peter González, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and Felipe Osorio, Senior VP of Content Verticals. Joining them for the first time publicly was Luis Romero, the new Executive VP of Sales.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth over the past five years, not just in unique users, but also in our technological innovation and data capabilities. However, user acquisition alone isn’t enough. We need a platform that can sustain this growth, through compelling content and a seamless user experience. That’s where retention comes in. It’s not just about attracting new users, but also keeping the ones we already have engaged. This is why we’re heavily invested in content diversification across various verticals. We want to offer users multiple ways to connect with our platform,” he explained.
When asked for the exact number of clients, he couldn’t provide a figure but confirmed they collaborate with over 100 brands.
Méndez capped off his presentation by highlighting their new film slate. These films, he noted, are designed to not only attract a broader audience, encompassing both men and women but also to cultivate opportunities for Latin talent within the industry.
