Edye TV will launch in late April and will be available for the US Hispanic, Latin America, and Brazil

Five years after its launch, the preschool SVOD Edye expanded to free-to-air TV and as a linear channel in pay-TV called Edye TV.

Guillermo Sierra, Head of Television and Digital Services at HITN, announced the launch of Edye TV in late April, available for the US Hispanic, Latin America, and Brazil. The channel will be generated from HITN’s master control in New York, “it’s the second channel to be added to our master control there.”

“We are creating the linear channel Edye TV to continue with the Edye ecosystem brand. It will have a selection of Edye content that will rotate. Something very special about the block, which is very new and different, is that it doesn’t have a defined programming grid, so children can watch it. We’re calling it surprise programming, where you don’t know what the next program will be. We’ve created some beautiful graphics, where the mascot Ray opens a gift box or a curtain, and the next program appears,” Sierra explained.

These comprehensive programming blocks for free-to-air TV offer the possibility of a children’s programming lineup without the need for technical operation.

The representation as a block for free-to-air TV is being managed by César Díaz and his company 7A Media. Pay-TV sales will continue to be handled by Miguel Torres-Bohl and his team at Castalia Communications for Latin America. For Brazil, Javier López-Casella is the representative, while the Hispanic U.S. is distributed directly by HITN with the team led by Eric Turpin.

“We are very happy to see Edye turning five and celebrating it with a ‘little brother,’ satisfied to see the reaction we have received from the public and the industry. We already have agreements for the blocks on free-to-air TV to announce, but we require approval from the partner. We have some that will launch first and we are in other discussions,” he pointed out.
