The company Propagate is working on different audiovisual projects. Catalina Ramírez, co-head of Propagate International, announced one of them, a 90-minute series for Peacock’s Tplus. “We have just finished filming, the showrunner and one of the creators is Joe Rendón. We were recording from October to December in Mexico City,” she said.
She added that they are currently in the post-production stage, although they still do not have a release date for this product.
Although Propagate focuses mainly on serialized shows, Ramírez said they are currently developing a couple of films created by Latinos and set in Mexico. The reason is the market’s tendency to reward the cinema format on the platforms.
She revealed that Propagate has a fund to make documentaries, a genre they are also betting heavily on. “Right now, I am willing to find projects in Latin America to work with the fund and look for creators and fascinating stories. We are focusing on sports, musical stars, and Latin American stories. One of my goals this year is to find a great story in the documentary world.”
To select the works in this area, they will analyze the contribution the project provides creatively, the people involved, and the level of its previous research.
