The rules of the game in the industry, and also in society in general, have changed and marketers face new challenges. Marcelo Romeo, CMO of Newsan, a manufacturer of household appliances in Argentina, pointed out that the new scenario requires taking risks but, above all, fine-tuning active listening in social networks and media to connect with consumers. “Marketers and CMOs have a permanent challenge because the rules of the game have changed, the limits have moved and what used to be wrong is now maybe right. On the other hand is the importance of taking risks, if we do not know well the terrain where we are operating the important thing is to minimize them, but also assume that trial and error is not bad, allow failure and learning. Finally, something fundamental is the importance of active listening in social networks (and in all media) so that brands talk to consumers about the issues that are relevant to them.
