Estrella TV renewed the iconic set of Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, in its 27th season which has just ended on June 7.

“The set maintains its essence. The main innovation is making the stage bigger so that there is more space for the performances. We integrated more LED screens onto the set, originally designed by Andy Wansley, and brought in a new designer, Anton Goss from Consortium Studios, who has worked on major studio shows. The original set is 10 years old and needed an update. We’ve also redesigned the judges’ table, and now, because they have an extended role within the show, we’ve added three buttons for quick decisions. It adds more drama to the show, which has been very good for us,” said Iván Stoilkovich, EVP of Television Content at Estrella Media.

He said that season 27 was “wonderful” where they had more than 2,000 contestants from all over the US and Mexico who auditioned to compete. In addition, this is the first complete season, after the pandemic, that had once again the presence of a live audience.

Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, is the longest-running talent competition on US Hispanic TV.

“We are very grateful, although, in the end, we produce the show for the audience and its fans, to receive recognition – season 26 won two Telly Awards – fills us with pride. The entire production team works tirelessly and produces a wonderful show. We hope these awards open the door to greater recognition for our content,” said Stoilkovich.

Ana Laura Suárez, director of Programming, pointed out that the production of the show has been very consistent in all these 27 seasons -two seasons per year- since it has been the same producer from the beginning. “Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento definitely reflects our audience.”

Tengo Talento, Mucho Talento, is produced at Estrella Media’s studios in Burbank, California, on the Hollywood Way Stage. “Being in Los Angeles gives us access to the best crew and equipment in the industry. We definitely rely on the industry to keep the show relevant, and up-to-date, but the focus is on the audience, that moment they have on stage, it’s their turn to shine. One of the great successes of the show is that they can see their family, the neighbor, on the screen in their moment of fame. Another success factor is the group of judges. Pepe Garza continues to be the leader along with figures such as Carolina Ross and Ana Bárbara, among many others,” explained Stoilkovich.

Another element that makes the show unique, adds Suárez, is comedy. “There are several aspects of comedy that round out this show for our audience.”
