With its highest growth projection in the region in the upcoming years, Colombia is a high-priority market for Curiosity, according to Bakori Davis, Head of Global Alliances and Distribution, Curiosity Stream.
“Additionally to its projected economic growth, regional operators have in Colombia some of the largest subscriber bases: DIRECTV, Claro, Movistar, and Millicom,” he said.
“There are also the largest traditional media groups such as Casa Editorial El Tiempo, Revista Semana, El Espectador, and Caracoltv.com. All these factors make Colombia a high priority for us because we are flexible and can work with partners in the way that best suits their business needs.”
For now, Curiosity cannot comment on any specific original production in the region, but Davis mentioned the premiere of some of the company’s most successful original content on the linear channel in the region, such as the movie El CEO de Sinaloa, the series Inside the Mind of a Con Artist and new episodes of Engineering the Future.
Curiosity Stream is available as a linear channel in Mexico on Izzi and pan-regionally on Millicom. “We have a lot of room to grow in terms of our overall business and distribution,” Davis said.
In addition to offering its streaming and linear services, Curiosity Stream also licenses its content. “Our goal is to provide a simple and effective turnkey solution that meets the business needs of our partners.”
