The Mexican company Imagyx Entertainment continues its expansion towards new formats and windows, so they are already working on fiction projects for TV, pitching three series, and looking to close new alliances through their service offer, according to Gabriel Guzmán, executive producer of Imagyx Entertainment.
“We have a couple of projects in the making, a road movie and a family Christmas movie, and a couple more in development. We are also working with three packages of films for a distributor, which is about to finish its development stage and expecting to be filmed in 2023. We have an attractive offer for investors in order to share the risk through different products and thus the possibilities of recovery become more interesting,” he explained.
He mentioned that, regarding series, they are more focused on the platforms, which do not produce just with anyone. Therefore, “we work with the production companies that produce content for Netflix, Amazon, and HBO in Mexico. Through them we seek to create alliances and produce with other players who are already on track, having interesting conversations with some, and looking for a way to develop our own projects.”
One trend that Guzmán sees in the market is a greater concern about younger audiences when creating content. “Because these new generations have a different mindset than the one we have been using as producers and it is not easy to connect with them, it is important to have young scriptwriters adapting to the needs of each window. Because we’re talking of Latin America, a dramatic ingredient is needed, and the platforms give us possibilities to create all kinds of stories.”
