Cecilia Gómez de la Torre, associate director of Amazonas Films/Tondero Distribución and founder of WAWA, participated in a talk at Iberseries, where she showcased the offer of members of the association regarding DEI contents.

“We have WAWA women’s projects that talk about these issues in different genres: movies, documentaries, series and formats. We have more than 500 women members around the world and we made an open call to them to send us their projects. In addition, these are topics addressed by working and successful women, all members of WAWA” she said.

Gómez de la Torre explained that WAWA also seeks to promote inclusion and strengthen the industry. They act as a bridge to connect the industry with the talent that is part of the organization. WAWA is almost six years old, and during that time they have worked on different events and formats that allow this exchange with the audiovisual industry in a collaborative effort.

De la Torre talked about the importance of diversity and inclusion as part of the debate, and being of the offer on the screens. “We work as a team and when we come together, we achieve great things,” she said.
