“We are having a very big growth with our Plim Plim animated series on YouTube. We are the 16th series in the world, and in Spanish, we are between first and second place”, said Guillermo Pino, president of Smilehood, in Kidscreen. The plan they have is to offer the series to different types of platforms.
Plim Plim the clown, aimed at preschoolers, is in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and Russian, and they want to develop it in ten more languages in the next two years in order to reach all markets and local television stations with a complete licensing and merchandise development.
“Recently we premiered a play in Buenos Aires, which is already beginning to tour throughout Latin America.”
Currently, they are working on several agreements, including with a couple of platforms, which they hope to announce after the event, “but we are very happy with the acceptance and recognition that our product has” which, in addition to entertaining, leaves behind important values, which many buyers are looking for.”
“We are very strong in the Hispanic YouTube market, and growing.” They are currently focused on Plim Plim and do not have another project in their portfolio, because they are confident that the property is in full growth. “The challenge is to focus on continuing to improve our production and expanding our horizon through languages and multi-platforms.”
