Caracol Televisión presented its original series El Cartel de los Sapos, el Origen, a story that tells the life of two brothers whose ambition leads them to cross all boundaries, which will be released on June 14 at 10:30pm.
Dago García, Production and Content VP at Caracol Televisión said to PRODU that this production is preceded by good figures from when it premiered in other Spanish-speaking countries, bringing with it a good international tour.
“El Cartel de Los Sapos, el Origen deals with a current topic, which still needs reflection and exposure, not only in the social, political, or intellectual aspects but also in terms of entertainment in a responsible way. Additionally, the results these contents have within the distribution circuit, is a sample of what people want to see” commented Garcia.
Some of the challenges that the executive mentioned were making a period series, having to work with two generations of different casts, and involving a greater effort in art direction, characterization, and character construction.
The series stars Juan Pablo Urrego, Sebastián Osorio, Gustavo Angarita Jr. and Carlos Manuel Vesga. It was shot with four units and the directors were Jaime Rayo, Camilo Villamizar, Carlos Mario Urrea, Unai Amuchástegui and Daniel Arenas, and the general production was under the responsibility of Asier Aguilar.
