Netflix’s revenues could increase up to 20% with advertising

Netflix, still the market leader despite its recent poor results, announced just a few weeks ago that it will be launching a cheaper platform, this time with advertising.

Despite the fact that since its creation Netflix has refused to include advertising on its service, at this time of crisis, and seeing how well other AVOD-style platforms are doing, they decided to attract new subscribers with a cheaper plan, as well as extra revenue from advertisers.

With this new ad-supported service, Netflix directors, as well as industry analysts, estimate that the digital platform’s revenue could increase by up to 20% by adding new subscriptions to the AVOD and advertising revenue, which they have had.

This move could represent Netflix returning to a green balance in its numbers, which has been in red for a few months.
