Juan Carlos Urdaneta, president of Ole Distribution, said that in 2022 they will continue betting on subscription TV and with an increasingly strong and extensive digital offer, following the current consumption habits and complying with the constant demands of the audience in Latin America. He believes that pay-TV will continue to be predominant for subscribers to access the content.
Also, during this year, the integration of streaming platforms with operators will continue to prevail.
In light of this panorama, they launched new movie channels such as Sony Movies and DreamWorks and complemented them with a non-linear digital content offer in addition to their linear offer that includes: A&E, AXN, E!, History, History2, IVC, Lifetime, Sony, Studio Universal, SyFy, Telemundo Internacional (excluding Mexico), Universal TV and Warner Channel.
“Operators continue to be and will be our most important allies. For Ole Distribution, they are our only way of delivering to consumers and audiences the content and signals we represent, and thanks to our management team with extensive and vast experience in the industry, we will be able to improve even more the high quality and successful content of each of our channels. For the entire Ole Distribution team, it will be an honor in 2022 to continue providing our distributors with the excellent content that we have in our portfolio of brands and channels. Working day by day in order to surprise them, innovate and continue promoting the joint development and growth of our industry”, he highlighted.
He estimates a high growth potential not only in distribution but also in the use and consumption of that content that they are making available throughout Latin America. “Together with our distributors, we will focus our actions on making our great and attractive offer shine more and more. All of it under the framework of a new vision, with strategies aligned with the new circumstances of the industry,” he said.
He pointed out that they will continue working to increasingly expand the TVE / VOD content offer, and premiering new seasons of acclaimed series and new releases that will be announced in due course.
He believes that during this year the integration of streaming platforms with operators will continue to prevail and that pay-TV will continue to be central for subscribers to receive content.
