Norma Rodríguez, general producer, and Daniel Sánchez, producer in the post-production area of Cantarrana Films, reported that after twelve years of existence and building leadership in the area of post-production and equipment rental, besides from their consolidation as production services providers, they decided to move on in the production of their own content.
“We want to provide a comprehensive service, from the creation of the project, pre-production to post-production. We have worked with large production companies and in productions. The time has come to make our own content,” said Sánchez.
Rodríguez explained that they are already selling their own content, which includes mostly fiction, but also children’s, comedy, unitary, or documentaries. “We have a wide range of stories because we have great writers on our side,” she explained.
Among their original content, they mentioned the film Preso Rodríguez, the story of a prisoner who is serving a sentence that will be addressing the issue of loneliness, time, and the reality of prisons, it will be beginning production soon; and The Mexican Way, a series based on real events that occur on the border with the US, harsh stories of migrants who risk their lives to cross, it will include from six to eight 45-minute chapters.
Also Mascotas en la Mira, an eight-episode (30 minutes) unit program, each one divided into three segments: the host visits celebrities to talk about their pets; visit dog shelters and stories of “famous animals” are revealed; A children’s program called Los Cantos de Gea, original by Jorge Guzmán, which is a fictional series that delves into children’s ties with nature.
In addition, Adela, a dramatic series based on real events, with eight 40-minute episodes; the night show Cenando con René, an original idea by Julio Casado, and Frontera del Alma, unit programs in a melodrama tone that addresses stories of people who go through the process of separation by migration.
In documentaries they have El Corazón de la Tierra, in post-production at the moment; Perseguidos por su Fe, produced by the boxer champion, Juan Manuel Márquez; and Por el Oro. “We have more documentaries produced by us, although knocking on the doors of documentaries is not easy,” said Rodríguez.
They explained that they are looking for windows for the products they already have.
