The main objective of THEMA America with Kanal D Drama is to continue expanding the brand’s reach and its offering through the US and Latin America, both through the linear channel and its SVOD platform.
“The idea of launching our new SVOD app platform was precisely to strengthen our position as the only channel in the market that offers the best Turkish productions to Spanish-speaking audiences,” said Francheska León de la Barra, Marketing Manager at Kanal D Drama in the US and LatAm, for THEMA America.
Since its launch, their SVOD platform has been very well received, especially in the US “where it has continued to lead in the number of subscribers among all our markets, which include Latin America and Spain. In terms of subscribers, the US comes first followed by Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Spain,” she said.
They also have been opening access to subscriptions through several platforms such as the Apple App Store and Google Play for smartphones and tablets, with the option to stream through Chromecast. It is also available through Roku and Amazon Fire TV and soon on Samsung Smart TV.
León reported that 2021 was an “excellent” year for Kanal D Drama and they are very “proud of the growth, especially after launching their new SVOD platform.”
They also are working on new future distribution agreements, but they guarantee that they will continue with their commitment to affiliated operators, offering value-added services, adapted to the digital consumption pattern of audiences in Latin America and the US Hispanic.
