Telemundo Puerto Rico bought two Turkish films from Inter Medya’s catalog: My Son and Entrusted. Both will broadcast during the Cine Telemundo Turcolos strip scheduled on Tuesdays from 6 to 8pm.
“My Son and Entrusted are films that stand out for their moving cast and storytelling and have been licensed to many countries around the world. We are delighted to see that Telemundo Puerto Rico opened a space dedicated to Turkish films. I am sure that the Puerto Rican public will come across a great selection of Turkish films and will love them,” said Beatriz Cea Okan, VP, and Head of Sales and Acquisitions of Inter Medya.
The Inter Medya catalog, famous for its Turkish dramas, also has more than 300 films of all genres for the international market. Among the most popular, in addition to Entrusted and My Son, are The Way We Are, The Door and Milagro en la Celda 7, which has been licensed to more than 18 countries, many from Latin America.
“Latin America is at the center of the demand for Turkish content. In parallel to our sales of dramas, we continually license our films to Latin American countries,” said the executive.
“Turkish films are becoming as successful as Turkish dramas for their strong narrative, high production quality, and star-studded cast. In recent years, the Turkish film industry began to attract the world’s attention. Our recent sales show that Turkish feature films have a place among international audiences, following in the footsteps of Turkish drama series,” she added.
