TUDN, the multi-platform sports division of Univision Communications Inc., was proud to celebrate the U.S. Women’s National Team’s World Cup title by delivering live coverage of the team’s Victory Tour kickoff match against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday, August 3 at 10pm, which aired on Galavisión.
“As the year-round Spanish-language broadcaster of U.S. Soccer, we couldn’t be prouder of the Women’s National Team’s inspiring performance at this summer’s World Cup,” commented Juan Carlos Rodriguez, Univision President of Sports. “Their success has already done wonders for the growth of soccer in the U.S., and we are thrilled to deliver their Victory Tour kickoff match to fanáticos across the country.”
TUDN sportscasters Paco Villa, Ramses Sandoval and Tony Cherchi provided coverage of Saturday’s match against the Republic of Ireland live from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., where the U.S. women’s team won the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup two decades ago. The current group of U.S. women – led by captains Carli Lloyd, Alex Morgan and Megan Rapinoe – have captured the two most recent FIFA Women’s World Cups in 2015 and 2019, bringing the program’s total to four since 1991.
TUDN is the official Spanish-language broadcast partner of U.S. Soccer, delivering U.S. Women’s National Team matches throughout the year across the Univision portfolio of networks, as well as on the TUDN mobile app and TUDN.TV.
