Univision: TUDN is a great binational proposal for us to adapt to the new content consumption reality

TUDN, whose relaunch took place last Saturday, July 20 at 2am (Mexico time), is “a great binational proposal from the two companies -Univision and Televisa- to adapt to a new reality in content consumption” mentioned enthusiastically Juan Carlos Rodríguez, president of Sports at Univision and Televisa.

Rodríguez expressed that there are many benefits to this synergy with Televisa: there will be more hours of soccer by including new international rights of this discipline, they will integrate programming from Mix Martial Arts (MMA), give more coverage and depth with the addition of Univision and Televisa sports talents, more state-of-the art technology, production both in Miami and in Mexico and a very powerful digital structure (they will have 50 people dedicated exclusively to the digital topic).

“The sports channel only is increasing to 12 the live daily hours. In the past we were not even near that figure. Additionally, we went from five to twelve million subscribers. We think the relation with our audience is going to improve,” added Rodríguez.

Another novelty is that TUDN will create a specific window for women on Monday evening, produced and hosted by women, with women’s soccer from the Mexican League.

According to Rodríguez, TUDN is a way to adapt to the changes the industry is going through. “The only way to survive is to adapt to the new contents in content consumption uses and habits,” he ended.
