Yellow: Competition will bring good things to the industry

Ana Celia Urquidi, general manager of Snap and advisor for Hemisphere Media Group who leads Yellow, a joint-venture with Marvista, states that the competition that has unleashed this moment of content creation, will bring good things to the industry.
“It makes us all want to have a better product. I want to have good actors in my product, for there to be a director who is in control of the story that is very well written, very well delineated, and well developed, for the actors to be totally committed, and that everything to have a much better quality than what we are used to,” she said.
Regarding the figure of the showrunner, she mentioned it is important for him to be the person who writes the story. “He has a global concept because he wrote it, and at the same time directs it. It is a figure that is becoming more and more well-defined and becoming more professional. Because we could say that any executive producer is a showrunner, I prefer to continue learning before considering myself a showrunner, because I don´t write. But I do take care of the scripts, give my opinion on the dramaturgy or the characters, or where I think the story is falling or is boring or the character is not making progress, but I don`t write,” she added.
They are working on four series and will start the production of one now, in July.
