Netflix announced that Alta Mar, a ship trip full of mystery and drama in the ’40s, will be launched on May 24.
The story tells about a trip on a grandiose transatlantic full of passengers that are going from Europe to America seeking a better future. In the trip, two sisters, Carolina (Alejandra Onieva) and Eva (Ivana Baquero), as different as they are inseparable; and a handsome officer, Nicolás Salas (Jon Kortajarena), which fate has put in the wrong place, embody a mystery to be resolved: the murder of a passenger whose name is not on the list of passengers and whom no one remembers. Only one thing is clear: in the open sea, the murderer will not be able to get off the boat.
The cast includes the Argentinean Eduardo Blanco as Santiago the Captain, and the Spaniards José Sacristán as Tío Pedro, Eloy Azorín as Fernando, Félix Gómez as Aníbal, Tamar Novas as Sebastián, among others.
Created by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira and written by Ramón Campos, Gema R. Neira, Daniel Martín Serrano, Curro Novallas and José Antonio Valverde, the series will be directed by Carlos Sedes, who will also be Executive Producer together with Teresa Fernández-Valdés and Ramón Campos from Bambú Producciones, which continues its successful path after hits like Las Chicas del Cable or Fariña, among others.
