The director Gabriel Ripstein said they are thinking about the second season of Un Extraño Enemigo, a co-production between Amazon Prime Video and Televisa Alternative Originals (TAO). “We are hoping it is consolidated, everyone is very eager,” he said.
Amazon Prime Video launched on October 2 the eight-episode political thriller that tells a fiction story, inspired in true events of the 1968 student conflict in Mexico. It stars Daniel Giménez Cacho, Kristyan Ferrer, Antonio de la Vega, Karina Gidi and Fernando Becerril, who play characters from that period, such as the former presidents Gustavo Díaz Ordaz and Luis Echeverría.
Additionally, Ripstein is working on the post producción of the second season of Aquí En La Tierra for FOX, because they recently finished shooting. The story that reflects the singularity of politics and human relations through complex and contradictory characters that fight to find their place. A young man of humble origins must overcome several obstacles to grow economically and politically while a young heir struggles to clarify the murder of his father.
Created by Gael García Bernal, Kyzza Terrazas, and Jorge Dorantes, it has eight, one-hour episodes and is an original production by FNG Latin America together with La Corriente del Golfo. It has a star cast comprised by the Mexicans Gael García Bernal, Alfonso Dosal, Tenoch Huerta, Daniel Giménez, Yoshira Escárrega, the Colombian Paulina Dávila, and the Spaniard Ariadna Gil.
