The independent producer Sofía Szelske, partnered with Nativa, is promoting her web series Naturaleza Muerta, (8×20´), with which she has achieved very good results: she won the contest of the INCAA in Argentina and was chosen for the pitching sessions at Natpe 2018. Hers was the only Hispanic project selected in the Digital Short-Form Series Pitch at MipTV and it sparked interest at Mip Cancún.
Szelske participated in Ventana Sur, in the debate Nuevos Proyectos: el Recorrido Para Su Concreción (New Projects, the Path for their Consolidation), that took place on Wednesday 12, together with Gonzalo Armendares (Un Gallo Para Esculapio) and Mario E. Levit (Limbo).
“We already have 50% of the budget, achieved in the last market, MipTV and are applying to the Incaa web series production contest to produce it,” said Szelske.
The series is about a YouTuber that discovers a cell phone that can film ghosts and begins to interact with them in a black comedy, in the aim to earn fame on social networks. They already managed to get the participation of the influencers Nicolás Amelio-Ortiz and Magnus Mefisto. Between April and May 2019, they will be shooting.
She explained that they have additionally thought of transmedia actions. From the star´s fake profile on YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook, they are going to ask the audience to send their own ghost material. Then the videos will be commented, denied or found on the cell phone. All this on social networks. They are also going to ask the audience who is the historical figure they would like to see as a ghost. “We are thinking about making extra episodes that will be generated from this interaction with users on social networks,” she expressed.
