Telemundo International Studios (TIS) and Globo announced the co-production of the premium limited series Jugar con Fuego (Playing with Fire) slated to premiere on Telemundo network in the U.S. next year. This will be TIS second premium limited series. The first was El Recluso.
The 10-episode series is an adaptation of Globo’s premium limited series Amores Roubados, originally written by George Moura and directed in Brazilian version by José Luiz Villamarim.
Shot entirely on location in the Colombian coffee “triangle, Jugar con Fuego is executive produced by Marcos Santana, president of Telemundo Global Studios and Ximena Cantuarias for Telemundo; together with Diego Ramírez and Nancy Fernández for 64 A Films, and Tony Plana.
“We are thrilled to produce our second short-format scripted series in partnership with Globo, one of the most prestigious production houses in the world. The expertise and high quality of Telemundo International Studios, coupled with Globo’s decades of world-class content production, will set a new standard in scripted content for U.S. Hispanics and audiences around the world,” said Santana.
“We at Globo are immensely happy to announce this partnership with Telemundo, with whom we have had a history of successful co-productions. In the last few years, we have adopted a structure that allows Globo Studios to act as an artistic and intelligence hub for content creation and production, whether for the national market or in co-production for the international market, with the co-production of ‘Jugar con Fuego’ marking this special moment”, says Raphael Corrêa Netto, Globo’s International Business Executive director.
