“The trade volume being managed by the entire gaming universe equals the one generated by the film and music industry together,” said Gonzalo Borello, CMO of Latin America of Redragon during Esports Talks Brand Collaboration organized jointly by AMC Networks International – Latin America and PRODU.
“Currently the amount of public we are reaching is crazy, especially if one takes into account that in Latin America six out of ten people are gamers,” he said, after noting that although it is called a “niche” it is no longer so.
That is why non-endemic brands will find potential and scalability in this ecosystem, he highlighted. “It is one of the markets with the highest year-on-year growth, with rates between 12 and 15%. Particularly in Latin America, this could amount to 20% which, if we are talking about year-on-year growth at a commercial level, these are rates that are not seen in many areas”, he said, after comparing these rates to the automotive industry, which is around 1.5 or 2%.
“Another key element is the empathy among the gaming community, although it is extremely judgmental, it is a very loyal community. If what you are trying to sell is real and sincere, this community will take it, accept it, embrace it, and recommend it,” he said.
