Cristian Zuleta, president of TV Cables de Chile, and another panelist of ¿Cómo Cambió el Negocio las Plataformas OTT y Cuál es el Futuro de la TV? on Chile Media & Content 2020 analyzed the changes in the TV business and contents due to growth of OTT services.

“Traditional users who used to check TV operators´ and traditional channels´ programmatic offer, today uses diverse platforms, adapting their tastes to the immediacy and to what they want to watch. That is the main change that has happened in the business, but every change presents new opportunities,” he expressed.

“However, linear television is not going to die, in fact, it is going to be complemented with these OTT platforms and there is an emergence of new local signals, with very good quality, and they are going to constitute new content that will be able to be commercialized in an economic way and with a more loyal audience. There has to be diversity” added Zuleta.

The executive also emphasized piracy, since the conglomeration of multiple platforms can lend itself to this topic and it is something to be taken into account by the different signals.
