NALIP’s Latino Media Fest 2020 will take place between Wednesday 14 and Friday 16.
The first day of the event includes the panel NBC’s Superstore: A Comedy Unafraid to Tackle Social Issues with Hailey Chávez, executive writer; Bridget Kyle, co-executive producer, and Vicky Luu, co-executive producer (12 to 1pm); and Going Global: The In on International Production with Sandra Condito, SVP, International Production & Development, and Ana Bond, SVP and general director, International Production Latin America, both from Sony Pictures Entertainment (4:30 to 5:30 pm).
The agenda for Thursday 15 includes the talk Content Creators for a Global Audience, with Estrella Araiza, director of the Guadalajara International Film Festival; Natasha Ybarra, screenwriter and producer; Mario Székely, film and TV critic and journalist; and Stan Zimmerman, director, and writer (11am to 12pm). Followed by “Latinos behind the camera”, presented by Netflix, with Oz Rodríguez, director of Vampires vs The Bronx; Cristina Costantini, director of Mucho Mucho Amor; Linda Mendoza, director of One day at a time, Fuller House, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Baby-Sitters Club; and Miguel Arteta, director of Yes Day (5 to 6pm).
On Friday 16, Starz presents Rising Through the Ranks talk, with Karen Bailey and Juan Alfonso, both VPs of Original Programming, and Sandy Archila, director of Digital Marketing of Starz (1 to 2pm). From 9 to 10pm will be devoted to a fireside chat with Patricia Riggen, director and producer; Jorge Gutiérrez, creator and director, and Claudia Puig, president of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. In addition, the Latino Media Fest Awards will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm.
