Central America, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia are the markets that have greater growth potential towards the future, according to Balan Nair, president, and CEO of Liberty Latin America, company that operates in the region companies such as VTR, Cable & Wireless Communications and Liberty Cablevisión Puerto Rico.
Nair was interviewed by José Díaz-Balart from Noticias Telemundo and NBC Nightly News on Saturday in the talk The State of the Multichannel and Broadband Business in Latin America.
Nair mentioned that in the region, the model has to change because it is not possible for broadband penetration to be 35% when it should be 90% and LG networks are 30% when it should be 90%.
“Consumers want everything for very little money. Prices are the first thing they take into account. In Latin America, we can do the same thing as in Europe in the next 5 to 10 years, bring amazing technologies. We do something for consumers that is magical, we take it as a given, but it is very complicated and has great technology behind,” he commented.
