
Juan Carlos Gamboa
Juan Carlos Gamboa, great communication professional and beloved in the industry, co-founder and executive director of Development Communications Consultants, died on August, Sunday 12 in the morning.
Gamboa had more than 20 years of experience in all branches of communications. In his company, he helped multilateral agencies, government entities, multinational companies and other organizations with specialized services to generate support for development initiatives, as well as face crisis situations in the international arena.
Before becoming part of Development Communications Consultants, Gamboa served as VP of Communications and Public Affaires at Discovery Networks Latin America/US Hispanic. Gamboa directed all the strategic communication and positioned initiatives in Latin America and the Hispanic market in the US, including the promotion of the programming of 11 Discovery channels and their relationship with the industry, press media, employees, government and audience in general.
Previously, for 8 years, he was Senior VP at Fleishman-Hillard Latin America, one of the most important and prestigious strategic communications firm worldwide.
Gamboa was born in Mexico and held a PhD in Political Sciences from Tulane University, had a degree in Journalism and master’s degrees in Latin American Affaires and Political Sciences from the University of Texas in Austin and Tulane University, respectively.
He was the author of several academic articles on topics related with communications and was responsible for projects for the governments of El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Ecuador and Dominican Republic.
