“The truth is that Televisa, as the biggest and best producer of contents in Spanish in the world, has always produced and distributed contents, and Blim is a new way to distribute them, explained Carlos Sandoval, CEO of Blim, after mentioning that they are responding to a need: change in consumption habits. Producers leading some of these short formats, like Roberto Gómez Fernández (El Hotel de los Secretos); Carlos Moreno (Mujeres de Negro); Salvador Mejía (Las Amazonas) and Carla Estrada (Por Siempre Joan Sebastian), talked about the virtues the new language has: Gómez Fernández explained that it is a complete transformation in the way to produce content, while Moreno expressed that it allows condensing the story, because in one chapter a lot of things happen, and events occur at a faster speed. Mejía explained that shorter stories, told in a more impacting way, are required. It is also important for them to be congruent and hopeful. Estrada pointed out that what the audience expects is more quality and better contents, whether they are series or telenovelas.Diversity of options, windows, and lack of time, are forcing concentration and focus of the dramatic impact, to attract and capture the audience, insisted the producer Mejía. Agreement on the need for a change regarding the treatment of format production is general. Televisa is clear about the path they are on.
