Grupo Televisa, S.A.B., announced it has ordered 10 scripts of the sci-fi thriller The Seventh Day from prolific television writer-producer Scott Shepherd (Deadzone, Haven). Subsequent seasons will be based on future books written by Shepherd, each and all ending in cliffhangers. Lloyd Segan of Piller/Segan Productions (The Dead Zone, Greek, Haven) will be an executive producer.Shepherd and McCreery also wrote Televisa USAs Parker, a series based on the Donald Westlake/Richard Stark novels that is now in development at a leading cable network.Through masterful storytelling, Scott and Cindy are once again weaving gripping stories into compelling television. Their masterful tales fit perfectly with the wide array of sets and terrain that Televisa has to offer in Mexico, where we plan to shoot all of the series we greenlight with our pioneering production and distribution venture, said Philip, Head of Production and Distribution for Televisa USA.
