Producer Carla Estrada
Televisa began shooting, en Taxco, Guerrero Mexico, the series En la Vida de… Joan Sebastián (17×60′), produced by Carla Estrada, who revealed to PRODU that this is the first biographical series the company makes. It depicts the life of this Mexican regional music singer/songwriter who died in 2015. The story will include fiction and melodrama. Starring José Manuel Figueroa, son of the deceased singer, and Livia Brito, for the producer, this story is a dream come true. She was eager to make a series and even more so about a singer as great as Joan Sebastian, whom she acknowledged and admired. It is not a picture but instead a portrait of him, in which everything we have heard will now be seen through the authors who imprinted the series with a touch of truth, together with fiction and melodrama. This is the first series of its sort made in Mexico, explained Estrada. The producer assured that in March they will finish shooting the series and that same month when the first episodes will be edited but do not yet have a launching date. They will first be aired in the US through Univision and afterwards in Televisa Mexico.
