Azteca America premieres Desafío África, a survival reality show filmed in Senegal. Twenty-one contestants will face the harsh conditions of the region as well as come in direct contact with tribes living there, who will teach them their customs and norms. Desafío África premieres Monday, January 4 at 8pm/ 7C on Azteca America. Africa, the geographic origin of humanity, is a continent with both beautiful scenery and treacherous wilderness. It is there that 21 participants divided into three groups will brave jungle and desert conditions to demonstrate that human resilience can break through ordinary limits to reach the unimaginable. Hosted by Colombian actress Margarita Rosa de Francisco, Desafío África is a production filled with adventure. Each week, participants will not only fight to remain in the competition, but they will work alongside their teammates to earn their place in the best of three territories: the coveted Hotel Safari, a luxurious resort with all the amenities modern life has to offer. The other two territories will be La Tribu, which will place the participants among the Serer people who will welcome the contestants as cultural ambassadors and who will teach the participants their customs to help them survive; and El Desierto, a hostile environment in which food and water are almost impossible to find.
