Nat Geo Mundo: Our commitment is to offer stories that are relevant for the US Hispanic

Nat Geo Mundo´s commitment since it was launched in 2011 was to present stories that are relevant for Hispanics in the US.“We started by having different topics with series like Doctor Vet, LimoMasters and this year we made two series: Asombrosamente and La Historia de la Comida Latina, with the most relevant topics for Hispanics which are: food and language. We shot in Latin America, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico and the research on the bilingual brain for Asombrosamente was carried out in California, Texas and New York”, explained to PRODU Carmen Larios, senior VP for Programming and Development at Nat Geo Mundo. Both series are part of the programming that the signal has for the National Hispanic Heritage Month in the US. Asombrosamente (10×30’), which had its debut on September 13th and now La Historia de la Comida Latina (4×60’) that will be launched on Monday, October 12th at 8pm.“La Historia de la Comida Latina first came up as an initiative of our channel in the US, through a series called Eat, that narrates the story of what we eat, how it was cultivated and improved and what it means. Thinking about the Hispanic market and how important food is for this population, we launched this miniseries that describes how today Latin food -which was believed to be only beans and rice- is nowadays an incredible and growing industry”, expressed Larios.
